Description

I got this set last month on March 27th and I wanted to upload it as fast as I can but of course I bullshit around to no end, until now.

This baby finally came near the end of March and I was excited as hell to get my hands on it since I bought it off Ebay from the Malaysia seller. It's not the first time I bought it from Malaysia as the very first one I bought are Black Rock Shooter set that includes all 8 episodes of the 2012 BRS and the 2010 OVA.
This one includes ALL 152 episodes, a 5 movie part (3 full length, 2 OVA) Legend Of The True Savior, and surprisingly the 1986 film based on the HD remastered DVD. The last one is just a tack on music video compiled together with stock footage and music. The set only includes Japanese audio but does include the subtitle language of Malaysia, English and Chinese.
The only one that does not have is the 6 minute short film Legend Of Heroes and New Fist Of The North Star, for a good reason...
IThough I seriously love this franchise, I admit that I did not buy the official release by Discotek Media obviously due to high cost whether you get the set 4 set separately or get it for $100 in total, but that does not mean I regret buying this for merely $50 of bootleg set.
This is perhaps the best one I ever got. The video and audio are very well done and the subtitle while flawed at times at it does have typos and some text that either has no paragraph separate or downright embarrassed, does very good translate and consistent.
The main menu are also very done even if it's all in Chinese/Japanese text which is probably hard to navigate at first as seen in below.
Note the 152 episodes are not Discotek remastered and is only the original quality which I don't mind, considering I like Kenshiro hair black better than brown.
The same goes to the first movie Raoh Gaiden which is also the original quality and not the updated DVD version for the better or worse.
What's awesome is that on the movie section, you get a handful of extras consist of trailers for the first movie again Raoh Gaiden and some behind the scene and history. Problem for the extras, it has no subtitle so I do not know what are their thoughts on the movie they are making nor what the voice actors thought of voicing their roles.
The only I gripe I have with this set is that they do copy and paste the PS2 game cover both the disc and the main menu, that is pretty lazy. The other one is the back cover info regarding the plot that is really half assed. Being the huge fan who read and watch the series, this series is not all about Kenshiro go around and rescue Yuria from the hand of his former friend Shin, because there are more stuff happening than just that. It's pretty much no wonder most people made lazy overview of the plot when viewing this series on their perspective. Other than that this set is downright awesome and great alternative if you want to get it all for fifty bucks! Get it now!

Now that I have it, my collection is pretty much "complete". I may not have every single one be it the entire or the collections of action figures and video games but I am pretty proud of what I have for now. There is Ken Rage 2 I can get on PSN but I will not getting it as:
1. That game cost FIFTY bucks to get it.
2. The gameplay is inferior to the first one as I played the first Ken Rage. Same goes for the visual.
3. Even though the game follows the story very closely to the manga, it suffers from zero budget of not only the graphic but also the constant use of comic panel that is poorly done if you compared to the games like Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker comic cutscene to many cool moment like Kenshiro wielding a freaking nunchaku for the first time during his fight against the members of the God's army along with many Bruce Lee traits and awesome silence pause tension are pretty much tossed away, making it feel way underwhelming or worse lame so do not expect it to be 100% true.
Hell compare the manga and anime scene of Kenshiro blasting the living shit out of Han:

To this skip to 13:02 :

This includes the removal of the entire arc of Raoh son's Ryu. As an very close adaption for the manga, it has many original flaws such as Toki impersonator having a dark brown hair.

So yeah I am not getting that game. So on to the other stuff I have and my opinion:

Here's my thought on those two.

Fist Of The North Star 1986: The first one I ever seen in the series. At first I didn't like due to poor dubbing and bad fights and animation but it start to grow on me the more I delve deeper, making some I hate actually turn into some I truly loved.
This movie is only worth it for the beginner and hardcore fan so long as you watch it in Japanese, but it can also be a fun action packed movie in English dub. The English dub actually has some bad voice actors but most of them does a really good job. Take Airi for example, she actually sounds really good, and despite John Vickery as Kenshiro performs somewhat bad, he makes some of the best line and shouts that earns him "HE SOUNDS SO BAD, HE IS FUCKING AWESOME".
Since I got it in Chinese bootleg, the quality is not that great as both version suffer a bad pixel effect in some scenes. The English has a regular red tint like quality while the Japanese has bootleg with high brightness video and the Chinese subtitle is godawful and cannot be removed. However, in return, the Japanese has the alternate ending where Kenshiro and Raoh ends in draw while the English has the original ending, this time with Raoh winning and is about to kill him before being stopped by Lin.
Great action movie, I enjoy it very much in English despite the messed up translation which is done by Tom Wyner, the same actor who voiced M fucking Bison. I do enjoy the Japanese version but I prefer watching the anime as in this one has some severe problem such as Kenshiro confronting with Shin after finding out the reason behind his friend's betrayal and kill Jagi as a result. It's pretty much messed up as he would have no need to go and kill his friend just to get Yuria now that he learns the truth from the scumbag Jagi.

Fist Of The North Star Ken Rage: A decent game. I enjoyed the English voice cast such as Kanjii Tang as Kenshiro (gotta love his WATTA!!), Mathew Mercer as Rei, Laura freaking Bailey as Mamiya though I prefer Nuriko voice actoress Elizabeth Mcglynn, and some returning voice from the 36 episode English version such as Lex Lang, formerly voiced Kenshiro, now voiced Toki, and Dorothy Fahn, the only English actress to reprise the same role as Airi. The dream mode is fun and compelling story wise, and the progression is surprisingly good and addicting.

Here i come J Star Victory VS +
My main character choises are:
Kenshiro
Raoh
Tsurugi Momotaro
Edajima Heihachi
Hell Teacher Nube
